Morning

The day will begin at the Lucas Oil Stadium south area with assignment of rotational groups. Practical sessions will commence immediately inside and outside the stadium:

  • Helmet and Frontal Head Restraint removal (HANS and Hybrid Devices) and Helmet Cutting
  • Spinal Control and Immobilization During Driver Extrication Procedures
  • Driver Extraction from stock car, sprint car, IndyCar, Formula Car with removable seat
  • Hydraulic Cutting of Chassis Roll Cages for Safer Driver Extrication
  • Hydraulic Tool and Non-Hydraulic Tool Cutting and Moving
  • Rapid Extrication Car on Wheels and on Roof
  • Live Fire Suppression with Obstruction (outside)
  • Pathway to Life Fire Suppression Techniques (outside)
  • Rollover Controlled Movement (outside)
  • Driver/Medic Interaction
  • Airway Management Driver in Car
  • Hemorrhage Control Lower Extremities Driver in Car

Afternoon

Before Noon: The Race Track Safety Program is proud to announce our lunch time guest speaker is Dave Darland. Dave, known as "The People's Champ", is an Indiana native and is an American auto racing driver who was the 1997 USAC Silver Crown Champion, 1999 USAC National Sprint Car Champion, and 2001 and 2002 USAC National Midget Champion, making him one of only five drivers to claim all three USAC National Championships. Dave will share his decades of racing experiences during the luncheon being held in the Lucas Oil Stadium rooms 5,6 and 7.

At 12 noon, a luncheon will be held in stadium rooms. Following the luncheon at 1pm the practical program will resume. on the topics of:

Conclusion

This year the afternoon will be extended to hands-on training allowing participants to rotate through the expanded number of stations.

If time permits, live practical demonstrations of Driver Extrications/Extractions by the Canadian Motorsports Response Team and the NTT IndyCar AMR Safety Team. Your RTSP Credential allows access to the PRI Trade Show on Saturday.
